I started my network news reporting career in the 70’s profiling people and their work for my Working Journal feature series on ABC-Good Morning America.

While an embedded reporter in Afghanistan & Iraq for ABC World News Tonight & Nightline, I thought it time to explore something a bit more sustainable for my next chapter.

So, I’ve gone full circle – back on the road again– and online searching for the most inspiring and revealing career transition stories and resources both for myself and others who aren’t quite done yet.

Nextracks started as my side hustle for the reporting I now enjoy most . Some of the reporting originally appeared on the PBS NewsHour, where I’m a Special Correspondent, and other editorial and public speaking projects I’ve been doing on this subject.

Since it’s hard to find consistent reporting on this alternative retirement dynamic in any one place, I’ve curated related stories from reliable sources and added contributors to make the conversation and takeaways all the more informative and relevant.

Think of it as a user’s guide for this new life stage we’re all creating on the fly, just like the other major life stages we’ve changed along the way as the original “youth generation”.
